Despite warmer temps, still some good ice fishing taking place. Here’s where.

Ice fishing prospects were stubbornly hanging on in some parts of far northeast Ohio but weather conditions are changing fast. It won’t be long before open water is the only game in town again.

There’s still over 30 inches of solid ice on Devils Lake. So how is the bite shaping up as we move into March?

Many anglers were able to see the difference the change in pressure made this past weekend – lots of photos of larger walleyes and perch.

The fish still think it’s winter, so don’t worry, and the warm week ahead has us excited.

What’s happening on the ice in the Hayward lakes area, Chequamegon Bay, and Lake Superior.

Get a good hook set for finnicky fish and expect that bigger sunfish will pull down more on the rod compared to a quick vibrating motion for smaller fish.

With warmer weather ahead, the bite should take off once again.

Some consistency from last week, but also some different things to focus on.
