More checking and searching than fishing, but how about the perch bite?! It’s hot, which likely means good things are ahead on the walleye front.

Currently enjoying a good 6 to 12 inches of ice throughout the Devils Lake basin – and the bite has been good.

Early ice battle – it never gets old hooking into a “bonus” fish on light line. Ice fishing at its finest.

It was a slow, windy day, but found a few fish here.

Steelhead, walleye, yellow perch, and saugeyes are all on the Ohio angler’s menu right now.

Plenty of anglers hit the ice this past weekend and fish were being caught. Here’s where – and the offerings that were getting those fish to bite.

Things have locked up nicely in the Devils Lake basin with the recent cold snap, with ice depths ranging from 5 to 12 inches throughout the system. And the bite?

It’s going to start looking a lot like ice fishing here shortly, although some lakes outside of here have some good, fishable ice.
