Crappie, bluegill and perch have been biting well in this area.

We’re in the transition time between open water and ice fishing.

In the past week, 229 steelhead swam through the South Bend Fish Ladder. Since September, almost 1300 steelhead and 2000 coho have gone through South Bend. So how’s the bite?

Lake trout are starting to move near shore on Lake Michigan. Use jigging spoons, blade baits, and white flukes/tubes on jigheads near the bottom.

A few lake trout are showing up, and a few whitefish.

We’re in transition time between the salmon run winding down and the winter lake trout and perch bite heating up.

Low and clear water here have made for great bass fishing.

Covering water is the name of the game right now.

The rain earlier this week got a big push of kings as well as some coho and a few steelhead to come in here.
