WPA closures could throw wrench in hunters’ plans

Officials from a number of conservation and sportsmen’s groups on Monday urged lawmakers to end the federal government shutdown and re-open the lands upon which so many people recreate.

A 23-year-old Nevis man died last weekend when a fellow duck hunter occupying the same boat lost his balance and shot the victim in the head, according to Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes.

The Illinois DNR announced today that the new ATV permit sticker will be available in early 2014 at DNR Direct license and permit point-of-sale vendor locations throughout the state.
