Although fishing reports have been fewer than usual for this time of year with the coronavirus situation, the reports that have come in have indicated that there are fish to be had.
Ramps and boat accesses are coming open, as are most lakes; fishing reports are few, but anglers who are able to navigate fisheries are finding some luck.
Steelhead fishing remains pretty good on many rivers in the northern Lower Peninsula, and walleye anglers continue to do very well when fishing on Lake Erie, the Detroit River and Saginaw Bay.
As lots of anglers bide their time awaiting trout season, many are turning to panfish – for entertainment and to fill the frying pan.
Anglers are finding that crappies, and in some cases yellow perch, have been cooperative. Bluegills, too, have been willing biters at many of Ohio’s lakes and reservoirs.
Fishing reports have been limited, although there’s been some activity by shore anglers. Still, those anglers are finding only limited success.
