Heading into this weekend’s fishing opener, you should expect to find walleyes in shallow water.
Walleye fishing remains very good in Lake Erie, the Detroit River and Saginaw Bay with anglers reporting limit catches at all three locations. Inland lake anglers in the Lower reported a mixed bag of panfish,
Walleye season opens May 2. In the early season, fishing was expected to be good at a number of fisheries.
The crappie and saugeye bite on inland waters in the Buckeye State is finally starting to turn, with anglers reporting good catches of both species all around Ohio.
With water temps continuing to rise, fishing remains productive at fisheries across the state.
The bite – and run – continues to be going strong for numerous species.
The nice weather late last week, over the weekend, and this week also seemed to jump start spring crappie and bluegill fishing opportunities.
