Many waters in the southern portion of the lower peninsula are transitioning to open water due to warmer temperatures. Ice fishing is still being conducted in the northern portions of the state at this time.

Spring has sprung based on the number of boats heading to the Missouri River. Ice fishing is coming to a close in most of South Dakota.
