There hasn’t been much fishing activity, at least not as much as there could have been if lake conditions remained favorable and ice would have continued building.
Most fishing is taking place in 22 to 28 feet of water. Some reports of decent walleye fishing shallower as well, in the 18 to 21 depths but not as many fish or variety of
Some of the smaller lakes in the Upper Peninsula are frozen over and anglers are sneaking out and catching panfish, walleyes, and pike.
Ice conditions remain sketchy. And the bite?
Anglers are catching good numbers of crappies in many places, and yellow perch has been a bonus in many of these locations.
