Walleyes and sauger are spread out, and electronics really help to see fish because they are coming through at various depths throughout the water column.

Having trouble keeping up with the perch bite – for a while. But that’s the way it’s been all winter – hot and cold.

Before the recent storm, plenty of people hit the ice looking for a little ‘eye action or a South Dakota gold. How about now?

Try a small spoon tipped with a small minnow head or piece of minnow tail.

Any future rise in flows here should perk up the action for fresh fish.

Success was reported on yellow perch from anglers here.

Crappie, catfish action steady on state’s lakes.

We are halfway through February and the fishing remains good. Lots of ice and access is slowly improving.

Despite some nice weather and plenty of activity on lakes across the state, it was a pretty slow week of fishing in most areas.
