A great walleye bite is going on in the clear-water lakes. Smallmouth bite also going strong.

The fishing has just been like the summer-like temperatures – hot. A lot of nice walleyes have been caught recently using a variety of presentations.

Walleye bite keeps going. A look at the statewide fishing report from across Minnesota for June 7, 2023.

Anglers are releasing plenty of fish in the protected slot of 19.5 – 28 inches, and catching a good number of trophy walleyes over 28 inches.

What’s working and where they’re biting on the Rainy River.

Water temps are shooting up, and the fish are changing patterns quick. Catching fish all kinds of ways, and we’re even seeing some summer-like tactics emerging already.

Smallmouth bass action and catch numbers have been excellent in this fishery.

The salmon bite has continued to be strong in 60-90 feet across most of the Lake Michigan lakefront.
