Pier anglers using spawn caught steelhead and brown trout in good numbers here.
While still an option, interest in ice fishing is minimal. Here’s a look at the Minnesota fishing report on April 2, 2025.

Check out the super-hot perch bite here – but tread lightly as the ice here is starting to deteriorate. And the walleyes are turning on here.

The early spring brown trout bite on Lake Ontario is off to a good start inside 20 feet of water.

Had the boat in the water a bit this past week and it felt good. Cold weather returned (and looks to be lingering) so we will see how this next week goes.

Open-water season is here – but so is ice fishing.

Some anglers are making drifts and swings for spawning fish and having success by being patient in the fast-water gravel stretches here.

The Missouri River continues to be the place people are heading as limits of walleyes are common.
