Anglers in Manitowoc County have been capitalizing on the Chinook salmon run and switching some focus to Lake Michigan’s rivers.

An angling group fishing out of Two Rivers had a good day on Lake Michigan, bringing in a nice catch of chinook salmon and lake trout. One of the chinook salmon was nearly 27 pounds.

Yellow perch fishing picked up with several boats in both of these locations reporting catches of 30-50 perch.

Fishing activity picked up here as the weather improved this week.
