During the week of Aug. 6-10, the DNR’s new class of 11 warden recruits continued their summer of training by heading to the Rhinelander area. On Aug. 8, members of the Three Lakes Fish and Wildlife Club once again put on a feed for the recruits and members of the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association (WBHA).

Stauffer has been working as regional fisheries project coordinator in Bemidji for the past five years. He’s also served as assistant area fisheries manager in Montrose, and as fisheries specialist in Hutchinson. At Lake City, Stauffer will oversee a staff of eight full-time fisheries workers, responsible for portions of the Mississippi River and southeastern Minnesota
