St. Paul Minnesota’s newest conservation license plate will feature a loon. The design, by artist Wendy Amundson of Red Wing, was selected this week from six finalists.

A panel of judges, as well as those who voted on the DNR web site, selected the winning entry. The new plate will be the first Minnesota license plate offered by the Department of Public Safety that utilizes new flat plate printing technology developed by 3M.
