Hammond Lake (Tioga County) — Don’s Tackle Shack reported Aug.  26 that low, off-color lake conditions made for tough fishing here and elsewhere in the region. Octararo Lake (Lancaster, Chester counties) — As of Aug. 26, Jim Neary’s Bait and Tackle reported a “fantastic” white perch bite with fish hitting all over the lake on chunks of crawlers fished on the bottom with a couple of split shots. A good-to-average largemouth bass bite was reported on chatter baits and topwater chuggers
