Tom Venesky: Young hunter creates lasting memory during Nancy’s Vision Turkey Hunt in Pa.
Brantley Yoder tried to be modest when asked what it was like to harvest his first gobbler, but the 10-year-old’s grin gave him away.
Yoder, who is from Delaware, served as the “ambassador” for the Nancy’s Vision Youth Turkey Hunt on April 25 in New Milford, Pennsylvania. Organizers of the event gave Yoder and his family a place to stay for the weekend, outfitted him with a shotgun and hunting clothes, put him in a spot with a lot of vocal gobblers and, best of all, sent him into the woods with champion turkey caller Hunter Wallis.
