Walleye size limit change on the Manitowish chain to be discussed

With the exception of the month of July, walleye angling on the lake is catch-and-release this season. Catch-and-release walleye fishing is scheduled to re-open on Saturday, Aug. 1, and continue through Monday, Nov. 30.

The current regulations allow one fish over 14 inches and two fish under 14 inches to be harvested. WFT would like to see that changed to a harvest limit of three fish daily between 15 and 20 inches and no fish between 20 to 24 inches. The change would also allow one of three harvested fish to be longer than 24 inches.
