Pro Fishing Tip of the Week: Top early season walleye action

Brad Laabs says to try different cadences with jigging as you cast to shallow walleyes.

One of the best ways to catch some early season walleyes is casting to them in shallow water. Water has been slow to warm with our cold and windy spring in Minnesota, so spot-tail shiners will still be in the shallows for their early spawn for at least the next week or two.
