“It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” The USA Bass team’s performance against the best bass anglers in the world exemplified that phrase during the 19th edition of the Black Bass World Championships held Sept. 4-6 at Arabie Dam in South Africa.
Trailing Team Italy by 19 penalties (in international competitive fishing, competitors are awarded “penalties” based on the total weight of fish caught: the heaviest weight receives the fewest penalties) after two days, the three two-angler teams from the USA Bass team completed a thrilling come-from-behind victory by finishing 1st, 3rd and 9th on the final day.
