St. Paul Recent legislation requires the Minnesota DNR to collect a customer’s Social Security number as part of an application for a non-commercial game and fish license. The legislation was passed to meet federal requirements.

The SSN is required of all hunters, regardless of age, according to Tom Keefe, Electronic Licensing System program manager for the DNR.
