MN Daily Update: Remarkable recovery of lake trout in Lake Superior

“We wouldn’t even be able to consider using Lake Superior as a source for inland stocking if it wasn’t such a healthy lake trout fishery now,” said Cory Goldsworthy, Lake Superior area fisheries supervisor for the Minnesota DNR.

For the first time in history, the Minnesota DNR is planning to use lake trout from Lake Superior as broodstock to meet stocking quotas on inland lakes in northern Minnesota. Listen here for more on this remarkable recovery.
