Only fish caught in Illinois muskie tournament nets duo prize money for top three spots

One fish is all it takes. That was the case Sept. 26 on Evergreen Lake, where Gerald Fantin and Jarid Tomnitz needed just one muskie to win the second-to-last regular season Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail event – and they made it count.
Fantin hooked the team’s 43-inch muskie around 2:30 p.m., bringing the fish to the net and giving the pair the only registered catch of the tournament.
