Eleven members of the Ashland/Washburn High School Trap Team competed July 10-12 at the USA High School Clay Target League National Championships in Mason, Mich., where they placed ninth in the nation as a team.
A total of 234 high school teams competed from all over the country. Team qualifications ran on Friday, July 10, with the top 40 teams moving to the Sunday, July 12, championships. Ashland/Washburn finished first in the qualifying round by hitting 490 of 500 targets.
