Grand American trapshooting championships take another round at Illinois’ World Shooting Complex

After a decade of turbulence – including a temporary shutdown during COVID and threats of the state selling off the entire facility – the World Shooting Complex in southern Illinois has sailed seemingly smooth waters the past two years.
It will take its annual turn in the spotlight soon when shooters and shooting enthusiasts from around the world gather for the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s Grand American. The nation’s most prestigious trapshooting competition will run from July 29 through Aug. 8.
