Are ‘thin’ Lake Superior lakers a growing issue?

Unusually thin lake trout in Lake Superior –  specifically siscowet lake trout  – have prompted Michigan and federal agencies to launch a new assessment to determine the cause.
Lake trout, the most abundant predator in Lake Superior, is comprised of three principal forms or morphotypes: the lean lake trout, humper lake trout, and siscowet lake trout.
