“Looks like a bluewinged teal,” said Dr. Stephen Clements, wildlife scientist at the Nemours Wildlife Foundation.
He was looking at a mottled pile of feathers on the ground, that I had discovered while trying to maneuver a better camera angle on the bald eagle that peered down on us and on the pile of feathers from its nest high in a loblolly pine.
