There’s a particular kind of ache that settles into southern Illinois by early March. As I write this in the early morning hours, the temperature is a cool 16 degrees, and the wind chill is sub-zero at minus 2 degrees. Two tainted Pennsylvania creeks taken off trout-stocking list
The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission removed two streams from its trout stocking list after high levels of a “forever chemical” were found in sampled fish tissue.
On Feb. 27, the agency said trout stocking will discontinue in Briar Creek in Columbia County and Middle Spring Creek in Cumberland and Franklin counties.
