The fall of 2025 afforded me an extended visit to the state of Montana in October and early November for some archery elk hunting in the central part of the state and archery and rifle deer hunting in eastern Montana.
There should have been some time in there to do a little upland bird hunting, but as it’s shaped up in the past, I once again invested too much time in big game hunting to leave much of a window for upland birds or even waterfowl.
