A DNR survey of Dunn County’s Tainter Lake in 2022 confirmed what many people already knew: Algae is a major problem on the impoundment of the Red Cedar River just north of Menomonie.
However, that doesn’t stop anglers from targeting Tainter’s panfish and other species during the summer and winter.
