Michigan’s Mark Sak heading into Fishing Hall of Fame

Mark Sak got his start at age 7 when he would ride his mini bike to a local Michigan farm pond to go fishing. Now he will be inducted into the national Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. (Contributed photo)

From growing up as a simple farm boy in Brown City, Mark Sak has fished and written his way to a spot on the wall of the national Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wis.
When the Hall announced recently it’s 2026 class of inductees the long-time outdoors writer and former walleye fishing tournament pro was on the list.
“I couldn’t believe it. I know what it takes to get in and honestly I thought the payoff for me was that I was nominated. That’s an incredible honor itself. I honestly thought that was as far as it would go,” Sak told Michigan Outdoor News.
