The Big Eau Pleine Flowage, an impoundment of the Big Eau Pleine River, is known locally as a fish-producing machine – and for good reason, according to a 2024 survey by the local DNR fisheries team.
The Big Eau Pleine’s walleye population is sustained through natural reproduction. Other species of angler interest include northern pike, muskies, black crappies, and yellow perch.
