World trapshooting championships in Illinois hit 20-year mark

Trapshooters from around the world arrived in southern Illinois in late July to do what competitive trapshooters do: shoot trap against the best.
For two decades – less a pause during the COVID pandemic that temporarily moved the event to Missouri – the Amateur Trapshooting Association has staged its Grand American championships at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Ill. This year’s Grand began July 30 and runs through Aug. 9.
