Michigan DNR seeks input on walleye regulation changes on UP lakes

The Michigan DNR is taking input on a plan to impose a protected slot limit between 18 and 23 inches for walleyes on Lake Independence and Teal Lake in Marquette County. (File photo)

Teal Lake and Lake Independence currently fall under the existing statewide regulation for walleye, which calls for a 15-inch minimum size limit and a daily possession limit of five fish. A regulation proposal adds a protected slot limit to these two inland lakes.
