I was on the phone one mid-week evening with Saginaw Bay fishing guide Bill Horton, trying to book a bass fishing expedition for my brother Phil and me, when Horton casually mentioned that he was going on an exploratory walleye mission the next day to look for some fish on the west side of the bay.
He’d been pounding them on the east side, he said, but he had a couple of weekend trips coming up and the weather guys were predicting high winds from the west.
