Oakland Lake wouldn’t be called a destination fishing spot by any stretch.
But if you live in the New York City metropolitan area, it’s a legitimate angling option. And, according to DEC fisheries personnel, a pretty darn good one. In fact, DEC data shows it’s one of the best within the five boroughs of The Big Apple.
