It’s not easy being a rainbow or brown trout in Owasco Lake.
It’s been that way for about 20 years now, as Owasco’s lake trout and walleye populations soared and those fish had a field day preying on the browns and ’bows, particularly fall fingerlings stocked by the DEC in both the lake and Dutch Hollow Brook.
