So many factors come into play. There’s rising and dropping thermals that are important to understand. This pertains to where and when you choose to set up, as well as understanding how deer use those thermals to their advantage when it comes to how they travel, especially when bucks are trying to be efficient looking for does during the rut.

Time to apply in the bear hunt lottery in Minnesota

Prospective bear hunters have until Friday, May 2, to apply for a bear hunting license from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Applications for the 2025 season can be submitted online, at any license agent or by telephone at 888-665-4236.
A total of 4,605 licenses are available across the 15 quota areas where licenses are limited for the 2025 season, which opens Monday, Sept. 1, and closes Sunday, Oct. 12.

Pennsylvania lawmakers eyeing huge Game Commission balance

After Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Stephen Smith gave his annual report to the House and Senate game and fisheries committees on March 18 and March 26, respectively, the lawmakers wanted to talk about the agency’s huge bank roll.
