Dove, teal, goose seasons open Sept. 1 in Wisconsin; here’s what hunters should know

It will soon be time for hunters to head out again as three of Wisconsin’s earliest hunting seasons open Sunday, Sept. 1, for early teal, early goose, and mourning dove.
The early teal season runs through Sept. 9. Shooting hours are sunrise to sunset. The daily bag limit is six. The 2024 statewide modeled population estimate for blue-winged teal from the breeding population survey was 103,717. That is up 2.4% from last year.

Habitat-based deer management units in northern Wisconsin are one step closer

The board unanimously approved a scope statement that gives the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) authority to go ahead and draft proposed changes to DMUs in northern Wisconsin, gather public input, and hold a public hearing on proposed changes.
