Since a change in regulations in 2000, bass season in Pennsylvania has a softer opening than it once did, but for thousands of competition anglers, June 8 will be a special day because it also marks the start of tournament season.
“It’s like the kickoff for something we plan for all year,” said Mike Acord, a Lancaster County tackle shop owner and self-described tournament junkie. “Everyone’s fired up and ready to roll.”
