In May 2021, the Woodruff DNR fisheries team conducted a fyke netting and electrofishing survey on Amber Lake (recently renamed from Squaw Lake) west of Minocqua off Hwy. 70 to assess bass and panfish. Six nets were placed and checked daily over three days. During the electrofishing survey, game fish were collected along the six-mile circuit, with 1 1⁄2 miles sub-sampled for all species.
