Funds sought for Iowa ‘Great Monarch Skyway’ sculpture promoting pollinator importance

An Iowa emeritus art professor is seeking funds to bring a butterfly-based sculpture to life.
David Richmond, long-time professor at Simpson College, told the Iowa Natural Resources Commission recently that he would like to see “Great Monarch Skyway” become a reality. The structure would represent a salute to butterflies, their place in nature and their promise for the future.
