A total of 14 groups were offered a combined $400,000 in funds recently to improve water-related facilities and structures as part of the Water Recreation Access Cost-Share (WRAC) grants awarded through the Iowa Natural Resources Commission.
The grants, approved at the November meeting of the commission, help cities and conservation groups improve water access for recreational purposes. Projects range from the purchase of land access and dock replacement to localized dredging.
