When it comes to legally spearing lake sturgeon during a bonafide season, Wisconsin is the place to go for the 16-day season on Lake Winnebago and three upriver lakes that make up the Winnebago system.
Unlike many fishing and hunting season activities, sturgeon spearing is not discussed during a recruit warden’s training. There's plenty of rules to understand during this unique season.
