Effort to restore Lake Shelbyville’s muskie population in Illinois seeks catch reports from anglers

Is Lake Shelbyville on its way toward returning to its place as one of the top muskie lakes in the Midwest? Those behind the lake’s recovery are optimistic. The muskie recovery program continues to move forward at Lake Shelbyville.
There have been bumps in the road during the journey. However, with an aggressive team recovery program, cooperative involvement from DNR, the Illinois Natural History Survey, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and the Lake Shelbyville Muskie Club, progress seems to be finally evident. Now help and cooperation from anglers fishing Lake Shelbyville is needed to be able to verify or disprove this observation.
