The only thing consistent this spring has been the wind – it’s the windiest spring on record. Walleyes are still being caught by those who find the time to go out between windy periods.
Look for fish to be dropping back from the Red Wing dam to the lower river areas and the upper end of Lake Pepin.
Generally, things are just getting started, the bulk of the panfish being caught have been small, but look for these shallow areas to start holding big numbers of fish by this weekend.
