Snow in the west and colder weather in the east continue to show that the season is changing. All are signs of the bite continuing to get better. This is the time when the trophy walleyes typically are caught.
Anglers who are savvy enough to fish them can have outstanding fishing in places you wouldn’t ordinarily expect to find trout.
They can provide opportunities to avoid congested water.
It’s practical and brings back memories of a simpler time of fishing and life.
A jig and a minnow or a Jiggin’ Rap are two good ways to get at the walleyes chasing the baitfish.
