DNR continues snowmobile patrols in wake of deadly crashes
This winter, six snowmobilers have died in the U.P. and three in Lower Michigan.

Bass virus confirmed in additional lakes in northern Lower Peninsula
This time LMBV was found in smallmouth bass in Beaver Lake (Alpena County) during the investigation of a fish kill and in Avalon Lake (Montmorency County). These latest discoveries indicate the virus is spreading northward in Michigan.
DNR announces appointments to Commissioner’s Office
The Minnesota DNR has announced leadership appointments in its Commissioner’s Office. DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen named current Assistant Commissioner Barb Naramore as deputy DNR commissioner. Since 2013, Naramore has overseen three divisions (Ecological and Water Resources, Forestry, and Lands and Minerals) and worked frequently with other divisions on interdisciplinary efforts.
