DNR Fisheries Chief Don Pereira to retire

Pereira, who holds a Ph.D. in fisheries science from the University of Minnesota according to his Linkedin profile, took the fisheries chief job in November 2013.

St. Paul — Don Pereira, the Minnesota DNR’s fisheries chief, is retiring.

Pereira, reached at his desk at DNR headquarters on Thursday morning, said his last day on the job would be June 8.

The state of Minnesota’s “Careers” website, which lists all state job postings, listed the position on Wednesday.

Pereira, who holds a Ph.D. in fisheries science from the University of Minnesota according to his Linkedin profile, took the job in November 2013. He is also a commissioner for the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.
