PSE recalls 3 crossbow models

Precision Shooting Equipment, Inc. announced Aug 28 a product recall on its 2017 Fang XT, Fang LT and Thrive crossbows, shipped from Oct. 1, 2016 to Aug. 25, 2017.

According to the company, the recall is being initiated because trigger mechanisms on the crossbows have been found to be out-of-specification, potentially leading to a premature firing or accidental discharge. PSE has received six reports of crossbows firing unexpectedly; no injuries have been reported, the company said.

The crossbows were sold at archery and hunting sporting goods stores nationwide from October 2016 through August 2017 for between $300 and $500; the recall is for approximately 17,000 units.

Model numbers/UPC of the affected models: 01295CY/042958564869, 01295S2/042958574585, 01303CY/042958566924, 01303MG/042958566931, 01303S2/ 042958575797, and 01312CY/042958575322.

PSE is asking customers to immediately stop using the crossbows and to contact PSE for information regarding the return and repair of the items. For fastest service, PSE is advising customers to visit and fill out the Return Authorization Form found on that page. The company asks that you do not send your crossbow back to PSE without first obtaining a Return Authorization Number.

If customers are having trouble with the online form, they may contact PSE at 800-477-7789 or by email at
