Minnesotan named NWTF Mentor of the Year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — For his years of dedication to mentoring others, Ralph Warzecka received the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Mentor of the Year Award during the 41st annual NWTF Convention and Sport Show, held recently in Nashville.

“I thank the NWTF for the great opportunity to share so many touching hunts with people and share a passion with others,” Warzecka said. “It is beyond my happiness to be honored when so many have helped in this experience.”

The NWTF determined this year’s award winner based on how the individual’s work strengthens the “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” initiative. Warzecka, of Eagle Bend, Minn., has been mentoring new hunters for the past 16 years. He not only teaches new hunters how to hunt but also instills in them his love for the great outdoors.

“Ralph’s determination to help the next generation learn to hunt inspires us all,” said George Thornton, NWTF CEO. “His commitment to “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” shines through the students he teaches.”

Warzecka also is the Minnesota State Mentor of the Year award recipient for this year.
